Your child's sitting position and pigeon toes

27 Mar 2017 4:09 PM -

The sitting position of your child is very important. Getting them to sit with their legs crossed in front of them is an ideal position for ideal postural development.

If your child sits with their legs and feet out to the side (forming a W pattern when viewed from the top) or on their feet this can contribute to poor alignment in their feet, ankle, knees, hips, pelvis and lower back now and into the future and can exacerbate a pigeon toe walking pattern.

Gently remind your child to sit correctly for ideal development and if you are concerned about pigeon toes have them checked out by one of our trained podiatrists in Wagga, Albury, Wodonga and surrounds so that we can ensure that their posture is right to prevent postural concerns and pain and protect their joints into the future.
